What is the recommended consumption period once Emborg products are opened?
To enjoy our products at their best, we recommend the following:
- European and American cream cheeses: consume within 1 week of opening
- American, Italian, Dutch and Swiss slices: consume right away after opening the foil wrapping, as exposure to air will dry out the cheese
- Cheddar (mild, mature, vintage): consume as soon as possible - once the cheese is exposed to air, mold and dehydration may occur
- Natural cheese slices: consume within 5 days of opening the package, and make sure to seal the package properly
- Power Panda sandwich cheese: consume right away after opening the foil wrapping, as exposure to air will dry out the cheese
- Shredded cheese: consume within 2-3 days of opening the foil wrapping
- Dessert Whip: consume within 3 days of opening
- Protein Smoothie: consume within 24 hours of opening
What is the format of the expiration date on Emborg products?
On the product packaging, we list our expiration date under “Expiry date”. The date is in a European format, stating the day, month, year, i.e. DD.MM.YYYY

Are Emborg dairy products vegan friendly?
Emborg dairy products* are made of milk and are therefore not suitable for vegans.
(*Dairy products: milk, yogurt, cream, butter, processed cheese, natural fresh/aged cheese in any form).
Are Emborg cheeses vegetarian friendly?
Most of Emborg’s cheeses are made with microbial-based rennet, which is vegetarian friendly, as it is not sourced from an animal. However, please note that there are a few cheeses that are made with traditional animal-based rennet, which is not recommended for vegetarians. These cheeses are: Port Salut natural slices, Gouda (wedge) 350g and Grano Padano 200g. We recommend all vegetarians to read the ingredient label on the Emborg products in order to detect whether the cheeses are made with microbial-based rennet or traditional animal-based rennet.

Do we need to wash the vegetables after opening the bag and before cooking?
There is no need to wash the vegetables. These can be consumed right out of the bag.
Is it normal to find ice inside the vegetable bags?
Ice may occur in smaller quantities and is normal in frozen vegetable bags.
Why are there tiny holes in the vegetable bags?
Airholes are necessary for the air to get out of the bag.
What’s the difference between Processed cheese & Natural Cheese?
Processed cheese contains cheese and other ingredients such as flavouring, emulsifying agents, salt whereas Natural cheese is obtained from an actual block of cheese that is produced by traditional production techniques. Natural cheese does not contain artificial flavouring, whereas processed cheese might.
