Serves 1 Serves 1

  • 2 Slices of Toasted Wholemeal Bread
  • Emborg Salted Butter
  • 1 Mandarin
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 Cucumber
  • Raspberries (a handful)
  • Blueberries (a handful)

Make a classic sandwich with a fun twist - your kids will love it!

Start by cutting the toasted wholemeal bread into a shape that resembles the wings of a butterfly. Position the bread so that the tops of the wings are outstretched and then cut a half-circle on the inside of the two slices of bread so there is room to add a "head" between the two slices of bread. Spread Emborg butter on the wings. Place the wings on the serving plate.

Cut a slice of mandarin, preferably from the centre so that you get the biggest slice. Now, place the mandarin on the serving plate in the top right-hand corner to represent the sun. Peel the carrot and cut some slices and then some small triangles from it. Place them as sunrays on the mandarin (the sun) on the plate.

Cut an oblong piece of carrot and position it as the butterfly's body in between the two pieces of bread (the wings) on the plate.

Cut a slice of banana and place it as the butterfly's face with two blueberries as eyes. Remember to rinse the blueberries. Rinse the cucumber and cut it into narrow bars to represent to stems of flowers and place them side by side at the bottom of the plate. Cut four slices of the cucumber and place them on top of the butterfly's wings. Add flowers to the flower stems by placing blueberries and raspberries at the top of them. The raspberries should also be rinsed.

Et voila! Serve immediately.
