Caramelised onion cream cheese dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetiser that’s perfect for any occasion. Made with Emborg Classic Cream Cheese, caramelised onions and a few simple ingredients, this dip is a crowd-pleaser that’s sure to impress your guests this Christmas.
In a pan on medium high, melt the Emborg Unsalted Butter and add the onions. Sauté, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelised – about 20 minutes. If the pan gets too dry and starts to smoke, add a tiny bit of water. This will help bring down the temperature and soften the onions as well. Season with salt and pepper.
Leave the caramelised onions to cool to room temperature.
In a bowl, mix the caramelised onion with the Emborg Cream Cheese, Emborg Sour Cream and mayonnaise.
Season with salt and black pepper.
Add the fresh chives and give one final mix before serving with crackers.
Optionally, you can store this in the fridge for a day to let the flavours intensify.
