Instructions
Bulgogi beef
-
In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sugar, oyster sauce, garlic, green onions, ginger, pepper, and sesame oil. Mix well to make the marinade. Add the thinly sliced beef and let it marinate for at least one hour.
-
In a pan, heat cooking oil over medium-high heat. Once heated, cook the marinated beef and the roughly chopped onion until the beef is almost fully cooked. Remove from heat and drain off any excess liquid.
Toast
-
Place a slice of sourdough on a plate and put Emborg Natural Swiss Cheese and Cheddar Cheese slices on the bread.
-
Spread whole grain mustard and mayonnaise on top of the cheese layer, followed by the cooked bulgogi beef. Close the sandwich with the other slice of sourdough.
-
In a pan, melt 1 tsp of Emborg Salted Butter over medium-high heat. Once heated, grill one side of the sandwich until the bottom is golden brown and crispy. Add another tsp of butter, flip the sandwich, and grill the other side.
-
Once the cheese is fully melted and both sides of the bread are well grilled, remove the sandwich from heat and serve.
For an extra burst of flavour, try adding a few slices of pickled cucumber or radish to the toast. It adds a refreshing crunch and complements the rich taste of the bulgogi beef.
