If the pan gets too dry and starts to smoke, add a tiny bit of water. This will help bring down the temperature and soften the onions as well. Season with salt and pepper.

    • Leave the caramelised onions to cool to room temperature.

    • In a bowl, mix the caramelised onion with the Emborg Cream Cheese, Emborg Sour Cream and mayonnaise.

    • Season with salt and black pepper.

    • Add the fresh chives and give one final mix before serving with crackers.

    • Optionally, you can store this in the fridge for a day to let the flavours intensify.
