20 mins
Instructions
-
In a large pan with oil, add the sliced onion and a pinch of salt. Cover and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring a few times, until the onion is crisp-tender and just turning translucent.
-
Stir in the hot sauce and the beef broth and remove from the heat. Season with salt.
-
Spread Emborg Unsalted Butter on one side of each bread slices and, in a hot pan, cook buttered side down over a moderate heat until toasted for about 2 minutes. Transfer the toasts to a plate.
-
Add the bacon to the pan and cook over a moderate heat until crisp, about 4 minutes per side, then drain on paper towels. Wipe off the pan.
-
Season the beef patties with salt and cook on the pan over a moderately high heat until medium-rare, for about 2 minutes per side. Top each patty with a slice of Emborg Monterey Jack Natural Slices and cook, covered, until the cheese melts.
-
Set the beef patties on the unbuttered sides of half of the toasts. Top with the bacon, the onion and the sweet BBQ sauce. Close the sandwiches with a slice of toast and serve, passing more BBQ sauce at the table.
Tips: Make part of it ahead: The onion can be refrigerated overnight and reheated gently before serving
